Fully agree.

However, our point is moot; 105 coupés command absolutely idiotic prices nowadays, no matter how bad, so I should expect it to sell for far, far more in the end.

Also, way to butcher a car which until rather recently probably had no competition history at all – a n d q u i t e l i k e l y w a sn’ t e v e n a 2 . 0 w h e n i t l e f t M i l a n .

Serious question: is it street legal? AFAIK, i t wasn’t listed in the ad and I'm not sure what the law says about some roll cages.

If it goes for as high as $40-$60k, then my go to Stupid Idea crosses over into “Pierce Arrow or Packard”.

The law is interesting around stuff like this. You should be able to get it registered easily enough but the real challenge is getting through an inspection. A lot of inspection stations will simply not want to touch a car with a cage in it but technically as long as all original safety systems are in place there isn’t anything illegal about a caged car (though driving a caged car on the street is strongly discouraged due to the high likelihood of splitting your head wide open on it in an accident) . When my Dad built his Merkur rally car he had the cage installed such that the original seatbelts were still in place and technically us able (though 3 point belts don’t work great over the large bolsters of a racing seat) specifically so that he could get it through an MA inspection. It’s a lot easier to keep older rally/ race cars road legal since there are no airbags that have to be removed in the conversion like on modern cars.
